John C. Cholewa III, M.A., CPP
John Cholewa, a seasoned security professional with 30+ years of experience, is the owner and principal consultant of Mentor Associates. His background includes service with both major corporations and the United States government. He served as the senior security official for four Fortune 500 corporations where he was responsible for the development of standards, programs, and technical security solutions to protect people, property and information throughout the world.
Prior to moving to the private sector, John managed counterespionage operations for the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations in Asia and the United States.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Arts in Management & Supervision from Central Michigan University. Awarded the designation of Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by the Professional Certification Board of ASIS International, he is Board Certified in Security Management.
A long-serving volunteer leader of ASIS International, the world’s largest professional security organization, John served on the organization’s Board of Directors, as a member of the Standards & Guidelines Commission, as President and a member of the Board of Directors for the Professional Certification Board, as a Trustee for the ASIS Foundation, and as Chairman of the Safeguarding Proprietary Information Council.
In addition to ASIS International, John is also a member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants.
